From planning concrete structure to final stages of construction there are numerous agencies and vendors involved, each specializing in its own field and everyone wants to finish task within stipulated timeline.
Speed of construction matters as sooner project takes final shape better it is for bottom line of all stake holders.
Record time execution of projects doesn’t necessary means that quality of construction is compromised, so I don’t intend to play blame game here.
What I have observed that most challenging task is coordination between all agencies at ground level.
Many a times I have observed that work successfully finished by us after all testing results gets defected or quality is compromised by say tile vendor or plumbing agency.
Therefore, waterproofing design and systems needs to be incorporated from planning stage itself and same waterproofing agency should ensure coordination with other components to maintain quality and service life of work.
It is also important for chief project heads to ensure routine joint meetings with all components and all of them should ensure achieving excellent end results with cohesion.
During my visit to various sites I have observed sometimes 2-3 agencies of same trade are involved due to work demands, and most of time they spent in belittling each other, which is not good practice.
At the end of day inter personal communication and skills matters, after all we are all humans with feelings of greed and fear.
